Across the project

  • University promotional film
  • Filmed round-table discussion and individual stories
  • Two degree-route animations
  • Resource updates through August 2026

The brief

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council wanted to help prospective students understand the different routes into social work. University life, personal experience and practical information each had a part to play in showing what a future in the profession could look like.

Our wider campaign work brings together a university promotional film, personal stories recorded at Queen’s Film Theatre and explanatory animations about degree pathways. These complementary formats give audiences different ways to explore the profession.

Our contribution

For the Ulster University film, SlackPress helped develop the script and format, filmed contributors and captured aerial footage around the Magee campus and Derry/Londonderry. Bespoke graphics and editing connected university life with practical learning and career preparation. Contributors included actor James Nesbitt, the University’s then-Chancellor.

At Queen’s Film Theatre in Belfast, we coordinated a filmed round-table discussion, with participants sharing their experiences together on a sofa. We managed the stage design, lighting and multi-microphone sound, alongside producer-led questions and session programming. The conversation also became individual story films.

For the degree-route animations, we provided script development, motion graphics and voiceover. The resources were most recently updated in August 2026, extending the campaign with clear explanations of study options, practice learning and routes into the profession.

This case study brings together the 2025 - 2026 campaign work and updated resources with the Magee promotional film originally produced in 2019.
