Our purpose
from the beginning.
SlackPress began in 2013 as a social enterprise, responding to a gap between creative qualifications and meaningful employment. Talented people needed practical experience, professional networks and a chance to show what they could do.
At the same time, community organisations, charities and growing businesses needed access to high-quality storytelling. Bringing those needs together shaped the company we are today.
SlackPress Productions was established in 2017. Alongside SlackPress Social Enterprise, it carries those roots into every production: developing people, listening closely and helping organisations communicate the work that matters to their communities.

Good preparation makes a shoot better for everyone. We consider risks, agree safe ways of working and make sure crew and contributors know what to expect.
Information handled with care
We treat personal information and footage responsibly, with clear permissions, secure sharing and attention to who needs access. Respecting privacy and meeting our GDPR responsibilities are part of the job.

Our social enterprise roots inform the way we approach community storytelling. For Advice NI’s Sustainable Energy Communities project, the documentary and individual films give local experiences space within a wider public conversation. The work brings together our production expertise and our belief that communities should be able to communicate their own priorities clearly.
