The brief

Since 2015, SlackPress has worked with the Teaching Council in Ireland, helping it connect with teachers through film, animation and event production. The relationship spans FÉILTE, its annual Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence, school visits, outreach and public information. Each new brief builds on an understanding of the Council, its audiences and the teaching profession.

Our contribution

Working alongside the Council’s communications team, we develop stories and take productions from planning and filming through editing, motion graphics, subtitles and delivery. The work has grown to include explainers about changes to professional regulation and teacher registration, Irish-language versions, sign-language versions and films for the Council’s website and social channels.

Based in Newry, we support a national education body in the Republic of Ireland. This sustained cross-border relationship brings continuity to projects across different locations, teams and topics.

FÉILTE and event production

From promotional films to event coverage and highlights, we help the Council share the conversations, learning and atmosphere of FÉILTE. The 2022 anniversary film brings together a decade of the festival, drawing on footage of teachers, speakers and shared experiences.

Making complex information clear

Motion graphics explainer videos turn detailed updates to legislation, professional regulation and registration pathways into clear visual sequences. Different versions address the questions of newly qualified teachers in Ireland and teachers qualified elsewhere.

Outreach and school stories

School visits bring the work into the classroom. Contributor interviews and footage of everyday school life help teachers share their experiences, giving the Council human stories to support its outreach and professional learning activity.

Language and access

English and Irish-language versions, spoken translation, subtitles and sign-language versions extend how audiences can engage with the Council’s information. Consistent graphics, messaging and careful version control connect these different outputs.

A relationship with room to grow

An Irish-language book launch and an office tour show how the work extends beyond the annual festival. Event production, interviews and highlights sit alongside practical information films, giving the Council a familiar production team for different communications needs.

Making more of each production

The anniversary film shows the lasting value of a well-kept footage archive. Reusing material and adapting productions for different audiences extends their useful life. It is a practical approach to sustainable production that makes more of the work already created.
